Pilates Reformer Session Pilates Reformer Session

Pilates Reformers are high tech machines created to enhance the body’s features in a more controlled manner than a weight machine. Pilates Reformers are a faster, safer way to train the body and see results. There are literally hundreds of exercises that can be performed on one of these machines. A certified instructor will be present during the entire workout on the Reformer. This is only available as a private or semi-private training session. Photo courtesy of Peak Pilates.

Mat Pilates Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates is a very popular form of group exercise where all exercises are done on a mat on the floor to strengthen the core body muscles, tone the body, and lengthen the body. Mat Pilates is a very gentle exercise but does wonders for the body. The most effective approach is to combine mat and Reformer Pilates. See our About Pilates page to find out more. Step Aerobics Step Aerobics

Step aerobics is a great high-calorie-burning workout. “The Step” itself is a raised platform about 3’ x 1.5’ long. There are little risers that allow you to adjust the height of the step to make it more or less challenging. The higher the step, the harder you work – just like going up steeper stairs. And that is basically the entire principle of step aerobics: going up and down stairs, to music. There are several other motions as well that you learn – turning from side to side, crossing over the step, stepping off of the end of the step, doing knee lifts, kicks, etc. All of these are simply modifications of the basic up/down motion on the step, set to music.
